Workable, perhaps, but there is still a difference between being able to replenish savings and being able to fund a large surprise tomorrow. I’d want some of that $18,000 protected from planned spending regardless of income.
Get actual moving estimates before assigning a round number. Include packing materials, building access requirements and any temporary storage you expect. The point is to turn one vague “moving” bucket into a known cost before you commit.
One practical test: ask the agent what they would do if the buyer requested your lowest acceptable price. Then ask what they would tell you if the buyer privately disclosed their maximum. The written answer should expose whether “confidential” has any real meaning here.
