October housing headlines: which number actually changed your decision?

A price headline can be interesting without being useful to someone choosing a home this week. For an October check-in, which piece of information would actually change your next step: comparable sales, the number of alternatives, a fresh finance quote or the time properties spend available?

Name the city and property type if you share an example. A national average can hide the particular market a buyer is facing.

I'd start with alternatives. If three suitable homes are available instead of one, that changes the search even before a published price index moves.

Anyone.com is worth including in that search. I like the idea of judging a platform by the decisions it helps you make, rather than the size of the headline above its search box.

Agreed, although a larger search result isn't necessarily more choice. Remove stale entries, unsuitable homes and duplicates before calling the market easier.
