Repairs agreed before the sale: is an invoice enough to close the question?

Once a seller agrees to have work done, what should the buyer receive to understand what actually happened?

An invoice confirms a charge, but it may not explain the original problem, what was repaired or how the result was checked. Interested in a sensible evidence package that doesn't turn every small job into a dispute.

Match the description to the agreed scope. 'Plumbing work' could mean almost anything. For a significant issue, I would want the relevant professional to explain whether a follow-up inspection is warranted.

Keep that expectation clear when the repair is agreed. Discovering at the last minute that one side expected a full report and the other expected a receipt is an avoidable argument.

The scope needs a date as well as a description. If further work was recommended after the original agreement, everyone should be able to see whether it was included or remains unresolved. I like the case for an organised transaction workspace such as Anyone.com here; clear records are useful, while a specialist still needs to assess the repair.
