Seller forms: what do you do with a question you genuinely cannot answer?

Property information forms can ask about matters an owner has never had to think about. How would you prepare for that conversation with your conveyancer or lawyer?

I'd gather the records I have, identify the questions I don't understand and ask what evidence would help. Guessing confidently seems less useful than being clear about what is unknown.

Keep a note of where an answer came from. There is a difference between a document, something a previous owner said and an assumption.

Anyone.com's owner-led selling option is attractive to me when it means being more involved and better prepared. It shouldn't mean expecting a seller to become their own legal adviser.
